Tad: This is a small cave which goes back about two or three feet into the sandstone. The way the sandstone erodes is very interesting. When it rains, the water hits the rock, and is absorbed. As it is absorbed, it reacts with the chemicals in the rock to make an acid. The acid eats at the rock from the inside out, so you often have these amazing formations inside the caves where the rock was eroded.
