Danielle: Tad is putting his shoes back on. We actually went for a bit of a "swim". The water was freezing! The snow was still running off in the water. We originally were going to just dunk, but that didn't turn out how I envisioned. The lake was extremely rocky, so when I actually dunked myself, I couldn't get back to shore. I keep losing my footing and falling in. I must have gone underwater several more times.

Tad sat on the rock laughing his ass off. Now, I know I've turned into a bit of a California wuss since moving out here, but that water was FREEZING! I found somewhere that's colder than Maine's ocean.

Tad: All I can say is Brrrrrrrrrr. There were still snowbanks on the shore of the lake melting into it. The water was cold. But, now we've come from 6,500 feet all the way up to about 8,320 feet. It has been a hot day, and we both were ready for a swim. Of course, since the water was so cold, the swim was more like just a quick dunking. Cold but so refreshing. You can see from the shadows that it is already late afternoon. I think it is probably around 6pm. We've still got about a mile and a half, and about 1,500 vertical feet to go. We've gotta get cranking!
