(Saturday, October 13, 2001) I finally hit the trail after a long drive along some dirt roads. There were a few spots I thought my Prius would bottom out, but it never did. This is the first view along the trail to Long Lake. I don't have my topo map handy right now, but the elevation is somewhere around 6,500 feet. I camped up around 7,800 feet, and hiked up to around 8,400 feet.
