(Saturday, October 13, 2001) While hiking up to the forest fire and rock face mentioned in the last entry, I passed this huge double roof in a rock face. Most of the terrain around Bear Lake is similar to this. There is a lot of scrub brush and a few trees here and there. The brush and trees keep to the edges of the rock, so most of the time you can find a path which keeps primarily to the flat rock, and avoid bushwhacking through the brush.
